“I love the randomness of Capel Street,” says Caryna Camerino, the baker and shaker behind Camerino (No. 158; camerino.ie).

Caryna started out with a tiny oven salvaged from a boat, and has gone on to build a thriving business with some of the tastiest sweet treats in the city.

It’s a tiny, ridiculously colourful café dropped like a cherry amidst the eclectic stores and shopfronts (My tip? Get there early, and get the raspberry cheesecake).

“There isn’t a formula for this kind of shop,” she says. “Capel Street was the perfect spot to do it.”

We are delighted to have been featured in the Jacob's Crackers Guide to the perfect brownie.

Brownies are something that can, more often than not, be a disappointment. Dried up overcooked pieces of baking, stale or burnt, and nothing like the springy, chocolately goodness that you had hoped for or salivated over.

This unreliability disappeared when I discovered Camerino Bakery on Capel Street in Dublin’s north city centre, however I gained a slight addiction in its place! Owner Caryna Camerino is a self-taught baker of delicious delights that are freshly made in the bakery every day. In fact, they have just celebrated their first birthday on 1st November.
From the moment I tried Caryna’s brownies I was hooked, especially on her award winning Raspberry Cheesecake Brownies… They are definitely the best I have ever tasted.
