PRESS: Jacob's Crackers Guide

We are delighted to have been featured in the Jacob's Crackers Guide to the perfect brownie.

Brownies are something that can, more often than not, be a disappointment. Dried up overcooked pieces of baking, stale or burnt, and nothing like the springy, chocolately goodness that you had hoped for or salivated over.

This unreliability disappeared when I discovered Camerino Bakery on Capel Street in Dublin’s north city centre, however I gained a slight addiction in its place! Owner Caryna Camerino is a self-taught baker of delicious delights that are freshly made in the bakery every day. In fact, they have just celebrated their first birthday on 1st November.
From the moment I tried Caryna’s brownies I was hooked, especially on her award winning Raspberry Cheesecake Brownies… They are definitely the best I have ever tasted.

PRESS: "A lovely little cake shop"

We are delighted to have been featured by Dublin blog French Foodie in Dublin.

I love seeing new places opening in Dublin but have to admit some of them start to look the same. You know the type, either industrial or nordic looking where you feel you've been there before even if it's your first time visiting. I've had lots of déjà vus lately.

Luckily Camerino on Capel Street isn't like this and has its own style. It opened about five weeks ago, the white and blue front shop is cute looking and the display of cakes by the window is pretty but not over the top. As I stumbled upon Camerino with Mr. FFID we decided to stop for a little something sweet.

Welcome to Camerino

Camerino serves the best quality Cakes, cookies and squares, excellent coffee by Roasted Brown, leaf tea by Clement & Pekoe, and a simple daily changing menu including fresh soup and a list of sandwiches on bread baked fresh in-house.

Camerino is located at 158 Capel Street, Dublin 1 (between the Luas tracks and the Liffey) and is open Monday – Friday 7:30-5, Saturday 10-4:30.

Camerino was established by Caryna Camerino, who is also the owner of Caryna’s Cakes.

Caryna’s Cakes has been awarded Best in Ireland by McKenna’s Guides / Bridgestone Award in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The chocolate raspberry cheesecake brownies and carrot cake were finalists in the Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards, and her chocolate raspberry cheesecake brownies were finalist in the Dublin Street Food Awards of 2012. Caryna’s Cakes currently supplies artisan baked treats to 26 restaurants and coffee shops in Dublin.

Caryna’s Cakes started with a small weekly market stall in Ranelagh selling cake as a hobby. Caryna was working in Human Resources but knew it wasn’t her passion. Baking made her happy and she continued to put time and effort into that little market stall. Within 2 years Caryna’s Cakes had enough regular and enthusiastic customers to give her the courage to leave her job and work for herself, doing what she loves.
